Howdy Ags!

The Texas A&M Howdy Club (“Howdy Club”) in Houston would like to commend you for choosing to attend Texas A&M University.  Texas A&M is consistently rated as one of the best universities in the world.  This elite status is built on the foundation of superior facilities, world-class students, and strong support from its Former Students.

Howdy Club, a Houston based Former Student organization, recognizes the determination and effort necessary to succeed at Texas A&M.  The Howdy Club mission statement is as follows:

The Texas A&M Howdy Club is an organization dedicated to promoting and supporting education, professional growth, service, and scholarships among Texas A&M University Alumni, Students, and Staff.

As our mission statement reads, Howdy Club provides scholarships to students who best exemplify the “Aggie Spirit.”  Howdy Club holds monthly social hours and other events where donations are collected for the purpose of funding these scholarships.  Scholarship awards are for $1000 ($500 in each of the Fall and Spring semesters).  For more information concerning Howdy Club, the scholarship fund or other Houston Area Aggie organizations, you can visit our website at http://www.howdyclub.com/.

Scholarships are limited to those meeting the academic requirements of the University and are entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year during 2010-2011 at Texas A&M University.  This means that all recipients must maintain a minimum overall grade point average of 2.0 and will be enrolled as a full time student in Fall 2010 and Spring 2011.  A full time student is defined as one enrolled in and taking at least 12 hours at Texas A&M University.  If a scholarship recipient is graduating in Spring 2011 and has less than 12 hours of coursework to meet degree requirements, the second portion of the scholarship will still be granted, provided that the $500 is not in excess of the amount of tuition due to the University.
